Irish Water Spaniel

Developed in Ireland in the 1830's for retrieving, infused into the Australian Labradoodle gene pool in the 1990's mainly to bring in deep chocolate. Their faces and tails have short hair and this gene still shows up in Australian Labradoodles and Australian Cobberdogs, but is completely absent in Labradoodles and Cobberdogs.

Federation cynologique internationale breed standard for the irish water spaniel.
